If you’ve been a back yard mechanic or professional auto mechanic for that matter your probably come across the dreaded disc brakes that have a ratcheting style caliper that you cant simply compress with the old handy c-clamp. These calipers require a special brake tool that not only compresses the piston but rotates it at the same time. There are several inexpensive universal styles of these that you can get that in many cases will meet your need, however having a professional grade disc break caliper tool set will pay off for you in the long run. I have used many different brands of these but find that I prefer the snapon or mac disk break tool sets the best. They are fairly expensive and might not be the way to go if you only do the occasional brake job but if you intend on doing more than one or two of these types of brake pad and caliper replacements over the course of a year the tool set will more than pay for itself in the time you will save. Below you can find a listing of what is available on ebay. If you search you can sometimes find great deals on used snapon brake tools or discounted clearance mac tool sets. Our listings our updated regularly so bookmark the site and check back often if you dont find what you are looking for today.
